Personally, I use 110 units everywhere I can and 12v units where I cant. Solar chargers are nice, but the batteries dont last forever, and they are expensive to replace. I can buy car batteries from now until the cows come home and still be cheaper than replacing the rechargeable batteries in a solar charger.
At each farm I keep a 110 unit, and try to power as much as I can with it. On the back side of two places I do have 12v chargers. They seem to do ok, but sure dont have the punch of the wall current ones.
