The only person I knew I was driving near was Mike in Exeter based on seeing signs for Exeter!. It was sort of a point the car and go trip. We did end up taking the ferry to Manatoulin and beyond.
Quite an eye opener for me, all the huge flat fields in the south and the corn further north. I'm from New Brunswick and our farming has died back alot since WW2. The land I farm is only 1/3 cleared now but was 100% cleared in about 1960.
What stench driving through those oil areas! Reading about how they used to dump the worthless gasoline and naptha in the creek and keep the tar and lampoil made you want to cry with gas what it was!
