Ron: there have been a lot of them sold here in Ontario and it is price that sold them. Yes, they don't have a great reputation, and there is a rumour floating around that the Belarus organization has gone bust, but if you can buy it right and look after it, it might work fine for you for a long time.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
