Quite often if you look deeper you find that most of these jobs that get 'moved' into a new plant somewhere are moved there because the local government 'bought' those jobs with taxpayer dollars. He who has the most subsidies or tax breaks gets the jobs. The other game is 'training'... the government ponies up money to train people to do widget work that requires no training to begin with, hence another subsidy of local labor. It's been going on long enough here that they've got it down to just about a perfect science. Just remember, when the subsidies run out, the jobs will go somewhere else where someone else is willing to pay/more to have them. Magna is one of the locals that's quite adept at playing that game... Call centers are the other one. Call centers in particular invest next to nothing in the operation that can't be pulled out and moved overnight.
