I've never said that I thought it was a good idea. Just less bad than the alternative, socialization.

Healthcare is not a right guaranteed by the constitution. The federal government should not be in the business of insuring the citizenry. If the individual states wish to institute such a plan, that is their right, but the federal government has no such right.

Pathetic how the people have been led to believe that they deserve to be taken care of by others. Social Security was first, Medicare, Medicaid, WIC, public education, so why not just nationalize the whole thing now? Give more power to the central government, the very thing the Founders warned us against, time and time again.

So now, instead of families taking care of their parents in their old age, the government will. That's easier for everyone, isn't it? Why should we be "burdened" with such a thing? Instead of communities forming school systems, why not let the central government tell us what and how we should teach our children, after all, they'll pay for it. We shouldn't have that burden either, should we? Instead of churches and other charities helping the poor, let the government provide for them, and enslave them in dependance for decades and decades.

And now in the name of political correctness we add even more rights. Gay rights, animal rights, environmental rights. Where will it end? It won't.

And the People walk in willingly. At least some do. But not me. I can see the beast our government has become.

I think families should stay together and take care of each other, forever. I think communites can come together and educate their children themselves, as they did in the early years of our democracy, with much better results.

Of course there should be programs for those who truly cannot do for themselves and have no one to help them. But that number is quite small, and it should be done by the States, not the central government.

After all, do you not remember the Bill of Rights. That document was intended to limit the powers of the central government, not to give rights to the People. The People's rights come from their Creator. And it states "Any other rights not specifically outlined are reserved to the States and the People". They said that for a reason. But we have forgotten. We have become arrogant and think we now know better than those "old white men".

We couldn't be more wrong.
