Spin the crank to a point that rod will hang out in the open then take a piece of wood and tap the piston up and out. Or if you can't turn the crank to that point take a small piece of wood and tap on the rod where the bolts are. Also filling that cylinder with ATF and a table spoon of gas then light it up will help also if you have it some place that would be safe to do that
