We too have about 50 cats to keep the mouse population down. No livestock anymore, so that also helps, but normally do not see any mice in the field within a quarter mile of home. I mix up calf milk and feed with some cat food every day. The population of cats seems to be limited to about 50 to 60 by simply leaving or something. There are some of the cats that I really get attached to, but most are pretty wild. Haven't had a mouse in my combine or anything else for a long time. Main reason for putting up with the cats and their mess.
