I always had a nice car because my dad collected cars and my grandfather was the local Ford Lincoln Mercury dealer.In high school I was given a 1969 Mercury Cyclone GT Dan Gurney Special. I remember it had a 351C. I later owned 1969 Mercury Cyclone 428 Cobra Jet. Now that car was very fast. The local teens would hold drag races at the airport on Sunday afternoons. The sheriff would drop the flag for us if we drove safely during the week and attended church on Sunday.The runway that was used was abandoned but still in good shape. The fastest car there was my uncle's 1963 1/2 Ford Galaxie 500XL FASTBACK. It had a 390 4 barrel with a 4 speed. Enough memories for now.
