The Bible IS a serious piece of literary work. Not much 'stand-up' there I'm afraid, so no "scripture and verse!!!!". (I'm sure you meant to write, 'Book, chapter and verse' anyway). However, since you seem to be so narrow minded as to refuse to accept any authority other than the Bible itself, I suspect it's pointless to point you to any number of writings by Christian scholars such as Mahaney, Duke, and others. Christ did use humor(pessimistic literalists such as yourself would probably prefer it described as 'irony' or even sarcasm'), in his teachings. Many of his parables were/ARE humorous to those of us with an open/tolerant heart.
I sure hope you aren't actually as miserable in your life as you infer by your posts here on this board. Life is just too wonderous to waste in such a narrow state of existance.
