What your news reports and that article are not telling you is that many of the 'insurgents' that are no longer in Iraq are now back in Afghanistan. What they're doing there is renewing their attacks on Canadian and US troops in the Kandahar area. That's been going on since early spring with no end in sight. Time to move your 'surge' there because we're out in 2 years... As far as our government is concerned, if the locals can't look after themselves by then, they're never going to... and we aren't going to do it for them.
