I have used them with success. The biggest problem is removing the rust first. The Farmall F12 gas tank that I coated was really heavy! First you remove any pieces of rust with a slurry of water and some big bolts and nuts - sloshing away. That's the tough part. I have heard of a guy that strapped the tank to a jacked up tractor wheel and slowly let the wheel turn to do this. Next, you fix the rust with a chemical stabilizer. Then you use a paint looking stuff to coat the inside with a material that will handle gasoline, alcohol etc. All of this I bought mail order for about $45 a set. I used "The Auto Shop" from an ad in Antique Tractor magazine, but have seen the ads in Hemmings and Sears Auto Store (mail order auto parts and supplies).
