Sounds like water got into the fluid. Probably the best way to get the old fluid out is to disconnect both of the oil lines and the drive belt at the pump, then blow the pump out with compressed air. And maybe flush some fresh fluid thru it with compressed air to help purge all the old stuff. Do the same with the reservoir and the torque generator unit. Clean fluid MIGHT solve your noise problem, but more than likely there is bearing or other internal damage in the pump.
