In the early 70's, I actually used one of these jeeps outfitted with a PTO to run a hay crimper. It did not have a 3 point hitch. The PTO shaft was so close to the ground, compared to a tractor, that hay kept wrapping around the shaft. That, along with the limited visibility and lack of a hand throttle, made it pretty awkward to use. It belonged to a friend that was helping put up hay, in return for a part of the crop. We told him just to leave his jeep at home, it was more bother than help.
