Well here are a couple things to check , First change your plugs to autolites or motor crafts next clean up the ft pulley so ya can see the timing marks at between 20-22 degrees at RATED PTO SPEED . The timing for the earlie s/n is the 22 degrees and the 20 degrees is for the later engines and one other small thing CHANGE THE GAS YOU ARE USEING as the 504 falls under the 93 octane minimum req. for that engine . you vary well could have pistons swelling thus causeing the lack of power under load , Now correct me if i am wrong here but the 504 gasser had a selenoid fuel shut off on the carb and as long as the tractor starts then it is working and it goes into full fuel mod when the key is on . Now if by chance it still has the org. fuel shut down on it it may have a fuel adjusting screw in it and they should be set at 4-5 turns off the seat . Don't try and wean it back as lean is mean and can cause you more problems them ya want.
