The choke butterfly is not on these carbs. The enrichener circuit is a plunger that picks off an opening and allows engine vacuum to pull fuel directly from the fuel bowl into the venturi with the throttle slide closed. There MUST be a bit of "slack" in the enrichener cable when the lever or knob is down or pushed in whatever the case, If the plunger is at all off its seat when the slide is down enough to have Vacuum in the carb it will pull raw fuel up and directly into the intake, generally there is a threaded adjuster to allow the "slack " to be obtained. Do not overlook a worn needle and seat where the fuel enters the carb, high mileage units can have wear and cause fuel to leak by.
