A hydraulic "cherry picker" type engine hoist is a good investment. Check prices at Advance Auto, Auto Zone, TSC, Homier Tool, other auto stores, Craig"s List, and local "for sale" listings. The type with folding "front legs" are very handy and easy to store when not in use. The ease and control offered by these hoists make them a "joy" to use and the enhanced safety is an added benefit. They also come in handy for many other tasks that require lifting or hoisting heavy things that will fall fast and hit hard if something fails. One trip to the emergency room costs a lot more than one of these hoists especially if you get it on sale. Funerals are even more expensive and much less pleasant for all concerned.
