Hey Gary I just fixed mine last week on my 1999 Expedition it was a bad solder joint where the ribbon plugs into board, took me about an hour to take it out, repair it and put it back together. This is a very common problem on F150 and Expeditions built in that era, Google "Ford Odometer Problem" and you will see lots of sites telling you how to repair it. the trickiest part of the whole thing was removing the headlight switch, turn the lights on, pull the knob out, insert a small screwdriver in the tiny hole and remove the knob, turn the knob 180 degrees and reinstall it, turn the knob to release the switch from the bezel. Be sure and remove the battery cable before starting!!
