I"d much rather save that 311 than chop it off. True, they are not a fine Parker double, but once it"s hacked off...it"s next to worthless, looks like Hell and ruined. Why cut it in the first place? Have you ever been in a gunfight where the barrels caused you trouble? You plan on carrying it Johnny Yuma style? You reckon a skunk knows the difference in a 30" barrel or an 18"? Take care of that gun...it"s a keepsake from your dad. Spend $200 on a used Mossberg riot gun if the cool and handy factor is that necessary.
