I replaced the seal on my mower, and after using it for a while I wanted to check it. I put my tractor on a high spot going up a hill. I pulled the parking brake on extra hard, as I didn't want it to back over me. Just as I started under the mower the tractor started rolling backwards. I didn't know I could still move that fast. All I could do was watch the tractor, and mower roll back down the hill. It stopped when it hit a disc frame without the gangs attached and pushed it into the JD 5020. I knew it wasen't going further than the JD. From now on I will shut down in gear. Why doesn't the parking brake work in reverse. The only thing I don't like about my MF 231 are the brakes. Even with new shoes, and good drums they still don't work worth a darn.Stan
