I think every major excavator made is either built in Japan or based on Japanese designs. The other ones are from Korea, Germany, UK and maybe Italy. I don't even think there is a US made large excavator unless you talk about the big mining excavators where P&H might be built in the US. If everthing was made in N. America, I bet some businesses wouldn't exist because they couldn't afford the machines and customers couldn't afford their prices. It is a global economy. Some imports are junk, but a lot of them are state of the art as well. Dave
