It does takes a bit of getting used to, but I prefer the boxblade because you can *carry* stone with you as you are blading. If you try the box blade, let the scarifers down and adjust top link so that you are scratching almost 2 inches. This will give you a good mixing action and will not loosen things up excessively. For final pass, pull up scarifers, run out top link a bit on the long side and just let blade kinda float along. I do this commercially (and am accustomed to it), and I find a bit of speed works better for me than going real slow. Have fun working on this.
