If you just need the rim removed you need to remove the little wedge shaped clamps all around the outside of the center casting where it meets the rim.
Sounds like you are trying to remove the cast center off the axle. 3 large bolts on the outside are to be loosened or removed then there are 2 jack screws inbetween these that you screw in to loosen that wedge. If forced too hard you will break the screws or the back off the wedge. Best to get some good tension on them and if it won't budge try smacking the end of the axle to shock it.
