Yes it was settled and again the consumer got screwed. For some with electric heat the bill doubled, and roughly 30% increase for everyone else. Our fine state legislature got the utilities to give back around a hundred dollars to each customer and the rate increase stuck. For many the rebate wouldn't cover one month of the increase. Now the utilities are asking a additional 15-20% increase for transmission and infrastruture maintenance. This is what happens when a business is allowed to operate on a cost plus profit basis. Very little incentive to control costs because a good profit is guaranteed.
