I have been trying to get my brake drums off my JD 318 garden tractor. I made a puller/press out of 1/2 inch plate. Then I drilled 3 holes in the plate that I could screwq 3 7/16 bolts back into the drum. I removed the large axle nut and used PB Blaster liberally on the key and key way. Then when I screwed in the 3 bolts into the drum, I in effect put pressure on the end of the axle. I have the bolts pretty tight and still no luck in getting the drum to brake loose. I even beat on the drum with a big hammer. Still no luck. Any ideas on what to do. I have what I believe to be a broken spring hanging from the brake drum This problem is on both drums. I really don't want to put the torch to it if possible. I WISH TO THANK EVERYONE FOR BEING SO HELPFUL ON THIS WEB SITE. Thank-you in advance. Richard
