Carl, Easiest way to check them little things is to check static voltage with engine off. Probably will be around 12.5-13 volts. Then start the machine. You should see a voltage rise in the battery, should be up around 13.5-14.5 volts. If it is doing that, then take your positive battery cable off and measure amperage and see if you have amperage draw with key shut off. Should be 0. If you have amperage draw, you have a bad switch, regulator or diode, depending on the type of charging system it uses. If you do not see a battery voltage rise, then you have a bad regulator, diode, or charging ring. again, depending on the charging system you have. Normally will be a bad regulator or diode, charging rings don't normally go out. Jim
