Your references to purchases in TX reminded me of a transaction that I was involved in when I lived down there in Haltom City (NE Fut Wuth). The landlord was telling me that if he rented the house I had just vacated before the end of the month I would get prepaid last months rent refunded. I asked for that in writing. He says, "Wasamatta? Ya don't trust me? You been livin' up nuth dealin' wit dem Yankees too long!" I said, "Nope, just lived in Texas long enough to know how to deal with Texan!" He DID put it in writing, He DID rent the house before the end of the month, and DID get my deposit back!
