I've heard enough to make my decision on this. I'll stick to buying only what I can sit on and test drive myself! I'm on a tight enough budget that I can't risk losing thousands of dollars. I was just feeling a little frustrated because I can't seem to find a bargin in my area (Columbus, IN) and can't afford the gas (especially at today's gas prices!) or to waste the time to travel more than 60 miles just to look at a tractor and find out the guy on the phone was not being truthful (everybody has their own opinion on what is meant by "little rust", "runs good", "good tires", etc). But, I frequently see what appears to be a good bargin on some internet board. I guess I'll just have to be patient; if I have to get by without for another year than that's better than losing the money I've been saving for a tractor.
