I've lots of the old spring-loaded-pin-style PTO shafts get stuck on. When that happens I pop the pin out. Always wondered what I would do if one of the new right style ones got stuck. I really don't know how they come apart.
My disc mower has a new collar-style one and that got stuck once, but I managed to pry it off while holding the collar back. Made sure to grease it up good and it's been good since. Hopefully it never gets really stuck or I'm not sure what I would do.
