And no more food from mechanicized farming might return humanity to 85% working by hand on the farm, but when that was last the condition, the earth's population was much smaller. So to achieve that condition the population may have to shrink, either by starvation or by large area wars. Historically large area wars have been initiated by countries needing more land for their people and for growing food. Its been an unusually long time since the last big war looking at historical intervals.
