There is a spray made for use in wheat or oats to control the weeds but will not hurt the alfalfa. And we have sprayed wheat underseeded with alfalfa with 24D with no problem, the problem is when you wait till the weeds are already out of control before you spray, if you spray when the weeds are first there the alfalfa is not yet started so is not hurt
