Which battery is used? Six or 12 volts? If it's 12 you probably need a ballast resistor between the ignition switch and coil. Check at one of the plug wires for fire to your plug. The points may need to be cleaned with some 320 wet or dry.
Is the engine stuck? See if the engine can be cranked by hand or put the tranny in the highest gear and rock the tractor by moving one of the rear tires. Should see the fan move if free. If its free I would have the starter checked it may need a new bendix. Hal
