Is this a record for assistance? Took just over an hour to get a good response to my question. Went back out there and put an 18 inch pipe wrench on that PTO coupling sure enough the tranny shaft was moving the engine, even in reverse. Jammed crescent wrench in the trans shaft joint and with a mighty heave the pto coupler broke loose. Seal replaced, it wasn't real bad, but the gasket was cut and split up. Made a new one, had to fire the old .32 hog pistol to get a 5/16 hole cutter. Thanks, one more job done. Hood and fenders to paint when I get the right weather conditions. (Calm, dry, cool) we never get those on the same day.
