I don't want to appear too critical about these Detroits. You're right on the mark about the oil leaks.
These new Detroits have plastic and fiber glass rocker box covers and oil pans.
They must have a Pied Piper flute in them, because alot of people love them. At the end of the year check back on the love story tho, and something has gone wrong on the honey moon.

After two summers of having to park my old 1964 model 4000 gas 4 cyl. on a hill just in case the 6 volt system, for whatever reason, would not crank her, I decided to try the 12 volt conversion.
