Ahh, no. I don't believe that both sides will win. That would imply that there is inherent goodness in a 4 billion dollar corporation, and there is not. Their goal is to make money, and it's going to come out of someone... which brings me back to what I said before. Either they're going to lose their shirts on this deal, or as you say, they've done their due dilligence and see the potential for a massive profit which justifies the risk, in which case the taxpayer will lose HIS shirt. There's no do gooders there; only sharks and fools. All that remains to be seen is who are the sharks and who are the fools.
