I would recommend listing it on the website mentioned in the first reply (YT will not allow me to type the name here). It is national in scope and offers free for sale listings. In my opinion, it's the best site of its kind for selling tractors.
There are three main factors that determine price: 1.) Number of hours. This is like miles on a car. 1000 is low hours, 10,000 is high. Low hours = higher price. 2.) Does it have a loader? A loader is a scoop bucket on the front of the tractor and is generally worth a few thousand additional dollars. 3.) What is the overall mechanical/cosmetic condition of the tractor? This can range from pile of junk to mint/like new. Has the engine been overhauled? Is the paint good? Do the tires need to be replaced?
I would browse the link that Lanse sent in the first reply and see which 175 most resembles your Dad's in terms of hours, loader/no-loader and condition then price yours accordingly. You probably won't find a bigger selection of 175s to compare to anywhere else. Not even on Ebay. Hope this helps.
