Dave_Id, I had a few bottles of Fox Deluxe myself. I must be a bit younger or you had a better store. We used to pay $9 for 3 cases. I suppose it was bad beer, but we sure had a lot of fun running around Benton and Sherburn counties with 3 cases (or some fraction of 3 cases) in the trunk.
This thread started with Buckhorn. Another beer that has some memorable nights. I remember in college arguing with a friend that beer was beer as I drank my buckhorn. He had me do a blind comparison with high life. Was the last Buckhorn that I ever had.
Had a case of Steinhaus once. We snuck it into a movie theater during my freshman year of college in back packs. Had it all lined up in front of our seats. I probably had 2 or 3 when a friend got up to use the bathroom. He bumped a bottle and the domino effect took over. They all fell and started rolling down to the front of the theater. It was pretty funny listening to them roll down a concrete slope and the occasional "tink" as they bumped off seat posts. Must have been God looking our for me, as I never had such a headache, and after only 2 or 3!
