You are absolutly right on every point. Rescue services takes a LOT of training and a team that knows how to work together.
The most important thing the average person can do is to call for help, tell the dispatcher as much QUALITY information as you can. How many hurt, estimate of the extent of injuries, is someone trapped, how big (heavy ) is the equipment pinning the victem, location, If this is off road what kind of equipment will be needed to bring equipment and personel to the scene. The more QUALITY information the dispatcher has up front, the less valuable time will be wasted bringing the necessary resources to the scene.
If you are a farmer, or just generally knolledgeable about farm equip. contact your local fire/ rescue dept. Many will periodicaly train in agricultural emergencies, and they may be real happy to have you train with them. If you need to dissasemble a piece of farm equip. to release a trapped arm, it's real nice to work with someone who knows how the thing goes together
