How bad does it smoke?? What color is the smoke?? I have a 1935 JD-B that I know has not had the head off or rings etc in at least 50 year and I don't have much trouble with the plugs. Mine is a 1935 and I run 50W oil in it, only use it in the summer and I use auto lite 3077 in it but I don't think your would use that plug because of tread size. Mine does smoke and uses oil but I'll not open it up till I just plain have to because it was my grand fathers and I hope to keep it as he left it years ago
