Just make sure you are using metal core sparkplug wires, not the graphite automotive type. In my neck of the woods, we have to use the hottest plug in the range that your tractor calls for. What the books shows to be the right one is not hot enough these days. Also be sure all the wiring from the battery side of the solenoid to the switch then to the coil are in good shape and not rusted or frayed.
