just acquired a '46 john deere G, serial # 19026. has been sitting outside for several years, want to change the oil and filter. i was told by a friend that the crankcase and trans were common. i have a after market repair manual, but all the info it gives are the capacities for the crankcase and the trans & differ. they also do not tell you what weight oil to use in any of the above. they say the crankcase takes 11 quarts and the trans and diff 28. would appreciate any info that someone who knows G s could give. thanks for the help. don
