An "M" is the most awkward tractor Mother Deere ever made for getting on and off. The telescoping steering shaft is also about the most useless thing that mother Deere ever dreamed up. Most of them have a bad habit of not locking in the notch where you want it to. Therefore you usually have an aggerevating time trying to keep the steering wheel at arms length. Wait till that stupid innwer tube cushion for the seat goes flat! I worked for Deere dealership when the "M" series debuted and the dealer finally hit on the idea if the customer bought the tractor, he would give them the tiller to get rid of it. The tiller was impossible to keep in the furrow,the bottom plow wasn't much better. The implement hook up was a night mare with that long coupling pole that went under the tractor. The next series tractor, the "40" was way ahead of the "M" series in both power and performance.
