Had something new happen today, I caught my John Deere B on fire. The float in the carburator had stuck and flooded both cylinders, so I removed the spark plugs and cranked it over with the starter to blow the extra gas out. Something I have done many times... This time the spark plug wire shorted with the frame rail and ignited the gas I was expelling along with the oil pan that was catching it. Fortunately, I had a bucket of water handy and quickly extinguished the fire. The oil pan and a plug wire were the only things damaged, but I don't think I'll be trying that stupid move again.
