To Polarize use a length of wire etc to momentarily flash/jump from the Voltage Regulator's BAT terminal over to its ARM/GEN terminal and you ought to get a small spark. If the VR's ARM/GEN terminal is hard to get to simply jump from the BAT terminal direct down to the Gennys ARM post. If the VR is hard to get to period, jump from any hot ungrounded battery voltage source such as where the big batetry cable atatches to the starter switch or solenoid down to the Gennys ARM post. Of course, this works for Pos or Neg ground, thats the whole purpose of doing all this so the genny starts charging at the correct polarity and you dont let the smoke out of the VR.........
