Never too young to buy one for as long as you keep it locked up and only get it out when supervised. Trust me you want to keep it under wraps for a few years. If some of their buddys come over then they can't be sneaking a peek at it which could lead to a bad situation. Hearing protection is a MUST I am paying the price for not learning this early !
