As a veteran of 10 years service in the Marine Corps, I see too many Americans taking basic freedoms for granted.
Too many pacifists have the simplistic, loony notion that if the U.S. quit fighting in Iraq, the terrorists would be glad to quit fighting and become all buddy buddy. It doesn't work that way with an enemy whose religion requires them to kill anyone who doesn't think the same as they do.
Who was it that said, "You only have the freedoms you are willing to fight for"? How many Americans in this day would drop what they're doing and fight for their freedoms? Or even have a clue how to?
