Don't know bout US (I have Cingular/ATT) but I have a deal on my plan where I get unlimited text messaging, so much time on the internet, and 40 multimedia (pics) messages a month for $10. It is worth it for me, my soon to be bride has a real job where she can't talk on the C phone all day so we text and I check the weather on my phone alot. (for me that is one of the best things about my phone, looking at radar while try'n to decide how much tobacco to cut down at a time or wondering if hay needs to dry for a few more hours) The pic phone is good for recording funny crap you see every day. I use it alot on the farm, last week I took a pick of a hydrolic leak on a tractor and showed it to the guy at the parts desk so there was no question about what I was talking about. I take pics of cows that have just calved so I will remember what number to write down in the book when I get to the house.
If you can get one with US Cellular, I highly recomend the Motorola V365. It comes closer to being a "farmer" grade phone than anything else I have found that has camera.
