Joe the best and safest way to repair your block is to have some one Stitch it. Weldng will sometimes work but the block will often crack beyond the weld, and then the block can't be stitched after it's been welded. Once a block is stitched it won't crack again. Ask around at some local machine shops and farm equipment dealers to see if anyone in your area does it or you can attempt to do it yourself, but it is by far the best way to repair a cracked block.
