This system was designed to use AGCO Type 55 hydraulic oil, it is thinner than regular hydraulic oil. The oil is thinner so it will flow through the filter and into the pump easier. A heavier hydraulic oil will make the pump cavitate unless the outside temperature is really warm. Type 55 hydraulic oil would be the oil called for in the operators manual.
