First I'd go talk to your local Postmaster, explain it to him, see what they have to offer for confirmed delivery. I'm told that there have been recent changes to thier way of providing this.
I do know that with UPS you can require a signature, but UPS to Australia will cost a LOT of $$..My Wife is a UPS shipping clerk.
