No offence intended, but this thread should be deleted as this makes me feel like puking. People who can't live on 120k per year, no matter what region in which they live, are obviously living way beyond their means and need to wake up and smell the coffee. The fact that they work for the government is not all that surprising.
When we lived on the east coast, we knew families outside DC which were living on about 40k per year and doing just fine. For those who have never lived there, 40k family income for that metro region is very low. They were able to do it by living within their means and realizing that there are other things worth having in life than "stuff".
Who is going to bail out the spendthrifts? I guess our elected representatives will volunteer the US taxpayer to do the job.
